The router is a RT-N16 running "Tomato Firmware v1.28.7500 MIPSR2Toastman-RT K26 USB Ext", the laptop wireless card is a "Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 802.11BG WLAN". My internet connection is fiber, 10 Mbps down, 3 up. When connected to the router via wireless I can run speed tests and bittorrent downloads and reach the 10/3 Mbps caps just fine, but Youtube videos will only download at less than 3 MBps, which is slower than real-time with 720p videos. When I connect the laptop to the router with a cable, suddenly Youtube works at full speed, downloading at 8 Mbps or better. Anyone have any clues as to what could be going on?
