How can I get my Zonealarm (both free download edition) to work with my LAN? I got my LAN functioning with the firewalls off. I added the other IP's to the trusted zone. But it still don't work. Is there any other things that need to be done? Or are there anyother software firewalls that work better? I downloaded the new NetOp firewall (it runs behind Windows) but havn't installed it yet.

Maybe post what you can't do while the zonealarm is keyed up.. I.e. can't access a share... I have xp2 firewall, zonealarm firewall plus the router.. and things seem to be working okay, but I am probably not using my internal as much as you are.

Well like I said my LAN is not working. Meaning I can't access anything on my LAN with the firewalls on. Sometimes I can see the other CPU but most of the time I can not. Even if I can see it I can not access anything on the other cpu's.

It seems like i can see the other cpu most of the time if I'm in Explorer but not in My Network Places. If I click on view work group computers, it will try then i get a message that says "my workgroup name" is not accessable.......... Network path was not found.

Not sure why it did not auto setup the lan as trusted. anyways you said you entered the IP address if the other PC as trusted. You should have enter the address but change the last number to zero. Like 192.168.1.1 would be entered as 192.168.1.0 this is for all PC's on the LAN.

The latest version of ZoneAlarm Pro is buggy. It'd lock me up after a few minutes even with Automatic Lock disabled and LAN in the Trust Zone.
