I've lurked for a week now, and spend about 4 hours trying to figure out how to do this without any luck. The first router has a real old version of Satori on it. The second router, which is the one I want to wirelessly connect to the first one, I want to run DD-WRT. I don't need computers connected to one router to be able to see the other computers. In fact, I'd rather them be on completely different subnets. I followed this topic:

it didn't help at all. I did everything it asked, including using the alchemy firmware, but I could never successfully get the 2nd router to get an IP from the first. I'm at a total loss. Is there an easier way to get this to work?

you need a cross-over cable and connect the cable to the first port of (WRT54G 2)..and not in the internet port...and you must have disable DHCP and enable RIP on the second router
