I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times but I've been unable to find it. I want to access my modems web interface while it is connected to my wan port. I have a WRT54GL running thibor 15c. My modem is bridged but still gives an IP address & subnet mask that is compatible.

Possible with Thibor or other firmware?

From my research it seems you can't do this with PPPoE on your router but putting PPPoE on your modem and DHCP on your router I was able to. But that messes with my voip/stun so I'll let this interest come to an end.

    Just for others info.

if you modem is for example, enter this in your firewall_script:
    ifconfig vlan1:0 netmask

this will allow you to access your modems gui, btw it took me 1 minute to search for this information(searched for "see the modem")

yea... I found lots of stuff on that. It just brings up the routers webpage when I type in

my modem is, router is so I put....

    ifconfig vlan1:0 netmask

Other people had this problem as well and I thought the confusion lied in some people being PPPoE and others using the cable modem DHCP setting. Some seemingly knowledgeable people stated you couldn't do it with your router handling the PPPoE.

then don't type in 1.2, as it's the router's 2nd wan ip address. type in
