I am trying to setup advanced routing on the router and hope that someone can give me a few tips on whether what I am planning is possible or just wishful thinking...... Basically here is the scope of my plan: I am administering 10 remote sites(store locations) that all have an electronic time clock which our employees punch in and out everyday. The "timeclock" has a built in network card; each location has internet connection via DSL on a Dynamic IP service; the timeclock is connected to the linksys router at each location and every day I have to "poll" the timeclocks to get the punches. But the problem is that sometimes due to either the ISP's doing or that of troubleshooting the DSL Modem has to get resett-ed and that would of course change the external IP address preventing the polling to reach those "downed" sites until we reconfigure our site IP's manually.
Question: Is there a work around or technique that is used to give us access to the "timeclock" by assigning a Static IP in a Dynamic environment to avoid the hassel of costantly changing IP addresses so often?.....

You could use one of the free DDNS services and configure the linksys routers to update the info when the ip addresses change. That way you would just have to poll something like

Agreed. This is what is for. However since you are doing business I would recommend just to pay a couple of bucks for a real account with them. The free account limits you to 5 hostnames, requires you to login occasionally to verify, etc. Change all your references to hostnames instead of IP and off you go.

WOw, I really didn't think I would get a response so quickly and with suggestions of merit, I'm impressed, only because I've always had "bad" experiences with "forums". Thanx for the advices I'll look into - it right away but it sounds reasonable and practical your advices.
