    Hi everyone,

I have an AG241 v2 setup as my ADSL modem (PPPoA) and a WRT54GS (v5.1) running DD-WRT setup as a router (just for WiFi access).

I recently upgraded the firmware of the AG241 from version 2.1.00 to 2.1.03 and have noticed that after leaving BitTorrent connections open, the modem slows down and it is almost impossible to do anything -

I also noted that with the 00 firmware version and my PC plugged in by ethernet straight into the AG241 the same slowdown would occur, whilst if connected by Wifi, then I didnt have any problems. However, WiFi also shows problems now.

I have 'tuned' the DD-WRT to timeout at 400s for TCP and UDP, but does anyone have any recommendations for the router, or an alternative AG241-WRT54GS setup that will help my situation?

As the A241 is a 4 port ADSL router I guess it doesn't have a half bridge mode and you are running it as a NAT router and your problem is double-NAT and especially the Linksys default values in the modem software. This has been discussed recently in this thread over at Whirlpool forums, the modded Linksys firmware (now hosted by HiSpeed, and a great explanation of how NAT works by a Bored Individual
