    Why there're 2 antenna on WRT54G ?

And so, if I want to install an external antenna, on which connector (right or left) I should put it ?

Both antennas are usually set to send and receive automatically. The is a hidden feature in the firmware to change the setting. If you are using mod firmware such as HyperWRT or Satori you can change the setting. Fore example you can set the left antenna viewed from the back to only receive and the other to send and receiver. There is only one radio in the WRT54G so you cannot send and receive at the same time. Some antennas have two connection so you can connect both. Ohterwise you can just connect one.

hi, sorry but i dont understand what you mean.

you said you can set the left antenna to only receive and the right antenna to only transmit. then u said the WRT54G only has one radio. so u cant send/receive at the same time. so does that mean u have to use two antenas?

what further confused me is when you said some antennas have two connectors but the rest only have one. so if u cant send/receive at the same time how can you only hook up one antenna to do both?

ok basically i am wondering if i have a WRT54GS running the newest alechemy firmware can i set the AP to only use the right antenna to transmit and receive? because i have purchased ONE high gain antenna and i was under the impression that you only need one antenna. your knowledge and reply is appreciated.
