I've studied my router recently and I've discovered that on certain networks where ther are more DNS problems or Aunthentication errors you can simply enable those ports to properly communicate with the server or internet.

-For online Gaming= If i open HTTPS and DNS ports to my PS2 i can play without any "Game Join Errors" or problems connecting to a server. If i open FTP, IMAP, and NNTP ports i can also recieve good gameplay and accurate data tranfers to certain games like SOCOM.

Issue: I've opened all of these ports to my Ps2 and my bandwidth and gameplay performance has increased dramatically, but when I set ports to have a higher priotrity than others why does my connection go down and lags horribly?

it could be that the auto bandwidth detection is getting wrong info or that your manually entered a wrong value, could be the port your using is set to low prio (you didn't specify which ports you set to high) or it could be that linksys' QOS is crap... you might want to try 3rd party firmware with better traffic shaping and see if it helps
