Are there any versions official or modded, that have a captive portal or splash page feature?

A portal would be nice, I would have a good use for it too.

DualWan is a Chinese version of Tomato by a guy calling himself ZD. Seems to be based on Victek's code, adding many very nice functions, NOCATSPLASH, etc - it can support two PPOE (or other) WAN gateways with load balancing etc. ***BUT*** unfortunately - it's in Chinese - and the writer apparently does not believe in the spirit of GPL (although he believes in it enough to take other people's code to use himself) and does not wish to publish either the source code or an English version.

There is an old version on my server with a pretty good attempt at an English translation of the GUI by mstombs - mostly quite useable, but it is nevertheless an older version. I forget whether that version had the portal though. The original 0061 version was the last one in English from the author, but that is now very old and probably not worth trying, a lot of bugs.

Old thread re China DualWan here

to give him some credit ZD did assist in providing snippets of code use to configure and integrate the nocatsplash, despite a language barrier, but we couldn't get it to work reliably - and it appears same problems with the original Chinese version. Victek also tried nodogsplash and i think wifi dog, it should only be a little app with a user database and work by manipulating iptables commands...
dd-wrt has versions which work but they may be the ones with external authorization server used in hotels etc.

Recent information indicates that there are now more developers working on Dual-WAN with the intention of using it commercially in China. So much for the spirit of GPL, and the copyright notice by Jon about the Tomato GUI :)

It should not come as a surprise, the Chinese doesn't give a ****, they do this to everyone.
