In my NetGear router, I can assign a DHCP IP to a MAC address. I haven't been able to figure out how to do it to my stock WRT54GL. Must I load a 3rd party firmware to get this functionality?

How are you supposed to forward ports if you have IP changes when you turn computers on and off?

    Static DHCP.

In the stock firmware you need to configure the pc's, and give each client an own ip.

If you like to have static dhcp, you need a third party firmware.
The Tarifa firmware can assign ip's to MAC adresses.
