    Hi guys,

I noticed that there had been a few discussions concerning the Linksys BEFDSR41W and firmware, however, I have been unable to find any working links to updates.

The Firmware version I have at the moment is V3.40(FH.4)d0 | 04/11/2003

I want to try a firmware update as I have noticed that my linksys keeps dropping connection and also resets the date and time back to default all on it's own. I not sure if it been doing it for long, but I noticed a few weeks ago and have been looking for a fix every few days since.

Would any kind person have any ideas where I could find an update or if there is something else I should try first?

    Kind regards,

I don't believe there are any updates released yet. What has linksys said about your issues?

Just to let you know, I contacted Linksys via the online chat facility yesterday and they gave me a new firmware ... V3.40(FH.5)b2 ¦ 08/26/2003

Little early to say if is changed much, but so far so good.

Interesting, did it contian a change log to indicate what it is meant to fix?

Not that I noticed. In fact I didn't notice many changes at all. There is now an option to set the MTU manually. I'll check the files again when I get a moment and see if there's any change log.

My problem still persists though, resets the clock and drops connection now and again.

Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had a great Christmas.

I checked the downloaded files that came with the update. There is no change log.

The differences I have spotted so far are..

    1. Network Address Translation:Enable/Disable Option on the SETUP PAGE.
    2. MTU Override: Enable/Disable option on the FILTERS PAGE in ADVANCED.

And that is about it from what I can see.

As I said before, the gateway is still resetting the time and date all by it's self every now and again, but it doesn't seem to be dropping connection as much. Only had a few disconnections since updating which is an improvement on every other day when I was using the old firmware, so the update has been some good.
