BEfsr41 internet only slow

I have a client that has about 15 people behind the above router. The only ports I have open regularly are smtp. I enabled that port ident for protection. When I need to connect, I do so and I enable terminal services protocols.

Only 2 or 3 of the clients on the network at a time have any internet browser open. For the most part, many of the workers don't even know about the internet. So, there really is no reason for it to be treacherously slow. And, it happens intermittantly and it takes me to reboot the router before it improves.

Client is running a BEFSR41 v 2 firmware version 1.46.02 dated August 3, 2004. I read somewhere that this particular model divides up the internet access over the ports on the switch equal for all and not dependant upon what is being used?

When one of the lawyers leaves the building she uses GoToMyPC to access her computer. No one else is able to install anythign on their computers. I disabled the service for her go to my pc, and set the programs which it runs to be prevented from running in active directory. Without her knowledge, so I'm sure she's going to be upset. So far, the internet has not had a slow down at all. I was wondering if anyone has seen this program lock up the router before, or if it's just the typical problem of this router and I need to upgrade.

    Any thoughts?

You don't say what the upstream connection is. The BEFSR41 v2 only has a 10Mb/s WAN connection. Apparently it can't keep up with a 6Mb/s internet connection. If you max out one connection, it will be slow for the others!

With 15 professional clients you need professional kit - not a domestic Linksys toy IMHO!
