Does anybody know how to run a befsr81 off of an OmniSwitch 7700?
Depending if you have ethernet ports or not it would be no different than connecting it to anything else.
we are having problems with both pieces of gear talking to each other because OmniSwitch doesn't accept the router unless forced. Do you know how?
I've never used an omni switch but networking is networking. What are you trying to do specifically and is the omniswitch port you are connecting too setup as an L2 or L3?
I am trying to connect the befsr81 to a drop on a wall that ends at the Omniswitch 7700
There still is not much information here:
Are you trying to create routing between the two?
Are you attempting to have the bef pull an ip from a dhcp server?
- if so is the port setup on the correct vlan for the server and are there available address?
Are you connecting wan port on the bef or switchport?
- again is the omniswitch port setup for switching or routing?
- if the port is setup for switching is it set for trunking or is it just a switchport?
Those are just a few that come to mind that will help figure it out, anything else you can through in there could help.
edit: 1 other thing just came to mind, i dont know if the wan port on the bef is an MDIX port or not.
You're gonna find this funny. We plugged the bef back in and it just came up on it's own. Thanks for the help.
