Linksys seems to have stopped supporting the BEFVP41v1entirely (last firmware update 1.41.1 was Sept 03, current is for v2 only) which is not a good sign.

Mine works very well except for one thing - it keeps periodically dropping the DSL line and requires a power off reset to reconnect. Is through a Speadstream modem configured for passthrough (router handles the PPoE) and my other routers (SMC, Netgear, BEFSR41) have no difficulty remaining connected.

Is out of warrenty and Linksys tech services has been no help. Would not even offer a price for an upgrade to the v2.

Do need the VPN capability periodically and works well once I figured out that it requires ANY/ANY gateway setup and requires an IPSEC shared secret for access control.

    Any suggestions ?
