This is a beginner's question, I'm a little new at this, bear with me, please. Can a BEFSX41 prevent a device that is added to my network from receiving an internet connection until it is "authorized"?

The question has come up when I found this morning that someone over the weekend had plugged in a wireless router (a WRT300N) and obtained free access to the internet over my network. I'm looking for a way to "lock-down" the network; that is provide an internet connection only to devices that I add to the network, and prevent anything else from just automatically connecting.

    Thanks in advance

Not sure about any automated permissions features. However, under the Restrict Access options you can define IP Addresses and MAC Addresses if you know who you want to restrict or allow.

    Restrict Access

By using the Restrict Access screen, you can configure the Router to block specific internal users from accessing the Internet. You can set up different filters for different users based on their IP addresses, MAC addresses, time and days, services, URL, and website keywords.

I assume you have other wireless devices on your network? If it's a router then you can definitely take steps to increase it's security. Can you provide any details on how they accessed your network?
