I am new to the Linksys Family, I recently replaced my D-Link DI-524 Wireless Router with a Linksys WRT54G.

I understand that there are a number of firmware updates for this router, each with its own purpose.

I Have 3 Media Center Edition Computers in my house, two are wired and the third is running on a d-link G120 802.11G usb card.

The most important thing to me is the ability to stream the video files between the systems. With the D-link it worked pretty good but I was told that Linksys would be much better. With the default firmware it is much worse.

Can any one recommend the best Firmware and or settings to stream large (3.4 gb) video files across the wireless network.

You may need to reposition your WRT54G router to get its signals propagated to the right direction pointing to your WiFi computer. From posts in other forum, some people said HyperWRT firmware seems to be the best to boost the router signals. Besides this, you have to remember that the WiFi on your computer must also be able to boost its transmission signals to reach the WiFi router.
