Whenever i start up Utorrent my web browsing dies. In order to be able to browse again i have to close Utorrent. It didn't used to do this. I did change some settings in the router but what could cause this? I have a WRT54G v5.

You will need to lower the amount of total connections BT uses, and enable QoS to set the BT application to Low and other applications to High like MSIE/port 80 etc etc.

Hmm, that didn't work. Has anyone else experienced this problem? It just started out of the blue. Used to work before.

Edit Update: I tried connecting directly to the modem without the router and it's the same. Weird... Only thing i can think of that caused this was a Windows Update. Anyone else experience this?

Edit Update 2: I figured out what it was. It was because i disabled services in services.msc.

Not sure which particular service it was. Just re-enabled a bunch of services and it's working now.

There is another cause for this problem if one is using Windows XP SP2 - Microsoft has decided to limit the number of TCP connections to 10. If you look at Event Viewer service and see ID 4226 event entries, it means your connection limit has been reached.

Of course, where there is a will, there is a way, and many people have been patching the TCP system file to increase the limit - I have mine increased to 100-200, but with each Microsoft update to the file to close security flaw(s), the limit is restored to 10 and needs to be repatched to increase the limit.
