blocking skype

    Is there a way to block a wireless user from using Skype. I mean is there a way to configure the wrt54g to block such access. or the use of any specific program.

    I think you're going to have a rather difficult time accomplishing this successfully 100%. As you can see from Skype's own FAQ, their software client can access the internet using a bunch of different methods.

    Trying to do this from the router end should prove quite a challenge. I would think a MS Windows/Server based gateway between your router and broadband modem would make things a bit easier.

    best to set his IP/mac address to have low priority (in QoS). that way his phone calls will be laggy and broken up. make your PC or the rest of the network have higher priority ove him.
