I am sure it has been discussed a billion times before but searching could not find it.

Current config - cable modem to V4 WRT54GS

Desired cable modem to V4 WRT54G to WRT54GS so I can extend the wireless range using WEP at both AP's

I tried a number of configs mentionsed but cannot get it right. Can someone please point me in the right direction

use WDS to extend your range, and if at all possible, use WPA instead of WEP, it's virtually useless

    additional info

Forgot to add that the connection between the ap's will be via cat5 as there is no signal in the other location

    1) On the GS, disable DHCP service and set Internet Connection Type to Disabled.

    2) Connect an ethernet cable from a LAN port on the G to a LAN port on the GS. Leave the WAN port on the GS empty.

    3) Configure wireless on each router as desired. If you want seamless roaming, have the two WRT's on different channels (eg. 1 and 11) but have the same SSID and Security settings the same.

    4) You're done.
