So I just picked up the wrt54g.
Set my Linux box(vida) to dhcp and reboot.
    Connected with rj-45
I get an ip from the router and log into the router via
configure it for my pppoe connection and successfully ping out via the ping tool in the router.

Now the strange problem...none of the browsers installed can get pages and cant ping from the nix box.

The windows box on the wireless connection routes with no issues.

Not sure if its the cable connection or the os thats the issue.

    Anyone have a similar issue?
It doesn't make sense to me that the nix box can configure the router and not be able to then use the connection.

Have you checked the default gateway on your Linux box? If it's not then that would cause the problems you are describing.

yea I set the default gateway no luck :( Was the first thing I tried.

I got most of it figured out now. For some reason I need to drop the ip i get from the router at boot then bring up the nic again and it works...wierd since im not actually changing anything..something in the boot script I guess.
