Can Someone Help Me Plz

    i got comcast internet... my lease time is around a week... does my routers lease time need to match the modems... or would it be better if it did... btw its a wrt54gs v4 router....

    Suggest you give your posts a more descriptive heading.

    With "lease time" I assume you mean the DHCP IP address lease time? If so, the lease you get on the WAN port/internet side has nothing to do with the leases you dish out to clients on the LAN side.

    For the lease you get from your ISP, your WRT's WAN interface is a DHCP client.
    For the leases dished out to computers on your LAN, your WRT's LAN interface is a DHCP server.

    If the WAN lease changes, the clients won't even know it, as they use the LAN side of your WRT as their gateway (usually The WRT internally routes packets received on the LAN side to the WAN side, if those packets need to go out to the internet.

    yes ip address lease time... how long should it be set to.... 1 day 3 days or what... not a very hard question

    No the question in and of itself is not very hard, however you are doing a very good job of making it so. The second post actually answers your question, if you have additional questions based off that answer then please ask. We can try it this way, since you have no control over your wan lease time you should not worry about it, the lease time that your home computer gets can be set to whatever value you want on the router.

    welll on my router i have a ps2 and all that connected... how do i make the lease time to those longer then a day.... what setting on the router will make it longer for them? thanks
