I have just upgraded my router firmware to 1.03.0 beta 4 in order to properly monitor my connection. (Due to the problem with monitoring data uploaded on previous firmware versions)

I am now not not able to login to my router wirelessly, but I still have access to the internet. If I connect the laptop to a network port I can than login to make any changes.

I was able to login to the router wirelessly before, but nowit just times out when I type the IP address into the brower. But like I said connection to the internet is fine.

I cant find any settings that might be cuasing this. Any advice would be great!

    Misconfiguration is your issue

Make sure your router is sending out its ssid to your wireless device and if you have to change that setting make sure to turn it off unless you dont have any issues with others getting on your wireless connection.
To be quite honest with you,if the above issue is not aparent to be the cause of your problem.....hold the reset button on your router for 30 seconds and reset the may have to power cycle the modem should this be a broadband connection also.
This issue I am sure isnt with the firmware.Sometimes when installing firmware to the router you have issues with the device resetting.....hope this helps you out

It is broadcasting the SSID. Dont have any issues at the moment with people stealing connection.

I reset and power cycled. same problem....

As soon as I connect cable and connect that way its fine. But remove cable and go back to wireless it just times out.

I can access the internet at all times though, its just trying to connect to the router. I cant monitor it using PRTG wirelessly(sp) either.

    Any more suggstions?

I have changed a few settings, but only for port forwarding and setting up wireless access form laptop. Have also setup mac address filtering, to allow only laptop and Nintendo DS. But it has been setup this way since I got it

It is a WAG54G. Wireless card is a WPC54G, which I have reinstalled after upgrading firmware on router. Have latest drivers for that too.

I didn't change anything straight before or after upgrading firmware and every was ok before that.

I can access the net fine via wireless connetion I just cant access the router setup.

    Thanks very much

I'm not sure what happened but I can now not access the internet or the router at all.

In connection settings it shows as being connected but I cannot ping it wired or wireless.

Also the Internet light is red. dsl light is green.

    Any help much appreciated!

I'm having a similar problem, the WiFi shows it as transmitting, though it is not getting picked up by anything.

    Likely Answer

It seems that 1.03.0-beta4 defaults to barring router access from the wireless network. You can change the setting in the wireless section once you've connected over cat5.

P.S. I also noticed that WPA only seems to work for a Mac when the router is configured by a PC running IE. Just in case this helps anyone.
