Hooked up an Asus RT-N16 thru a wired connection, but couldn't get it to connect to the Internet, even though the PC showed good connection to my network. I wanted to flash the router to TomatoUSB (which I had already d/l to the desktop) but it wouldn't let me. The router came with firmware. I hooked up the old router again, and d/l Asus firmware, thinking maybe I might be able to upgrade to that, and then to Tomato. Any suggestions? If, as a last resort, I have to RMA the unit back, any suggestions as to a better router with which to replace the Asus RT-N16? Thanks.

Thanks, maurer. I installed the CD that came with the router. The included Asus Firmware Restoration utility is what is mentioned in your link, right?

Thanks to maurer for posting the above link. I followed it, and was able to flash my Asus RT-N16 with Tomato 1.28 successfully. I found out like many others who purchased this router, that the stock firmware is horrible! Even flashing it from to really didn't help. Tomato to the rescue!
