I've searched all over and no one seems to have had this "problem". I've been trying to set up users on my NSLU2 (V2.3R73) to match the users on my WinXP machines (family doesn't want to have to enter another username/password and I refuse to leave the NAS wide open) and I'm running into trouble. The problem is the Windows usernames are in title case (Joe, Jim, Bob) and the NSLU2 only seems to allow usernames in all lower case. I'm trying to avoid renaming all of the user accounts on every machine in the house for what seems to be a limitation of the NSLU2. Is there any way to make NSLU2 either accept mixed case usernames or treat the usernames as case-insensitive? (I'm guessing it would be possible to do this if I unsling, but I wanted to make sure the factory setup would NOT work for me before I void the warranty :)

Have you tried setting the NSLU2 to joe and then logging in with Joe? It works for me, so the NSLU2 might not care about the case of the the user name. I think the passwords are still case sensitive though, but I've never checked.
