Did some searching but didn't find anything.

I noted on the HyperWRT website that there are two builds for HyperWRT: one for upgrading from stock and another for upgrading from previous versions of HyperWRT... right now my WRT54GL has DDWRT on it. So my question....

Should I install a stock firmware for it before installing HyperWRT? Or can I just install the stock HyperWRT overtop?

    Thanks in advance!

    Yes you can

Yes you can. Right below that you will find the following note

He doesnt mention it, but i recommend clearing nvram via reset button(30 seconds trick) before and after flashing any firmware.
