Using my tomato router "wireless survey" function and also the app "wifi analyzer" I can see a Wifi AP that is pretty strong and comes from my Chromecast2. It has no security, no SSID (blank) and I cant connect to it via Android. This happens all the time the chromecast is running, but it is not the function to set up the chromecast when it has no wifi as it also runs thile streaming via Chromecast. My chromecast is connected to my home-wifi. Strangely the chromecast ap is on the same channel on 2.4.ghz as the home wifi it is connected to. What could that be? I found similar postings here: https://superuser.com/questions/799390/chromecast-continously-broadcasts-as-unsecured-ap-after-setup https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topicsearchin/chromecast/unsecured$20wifi$20network|sort:relevance/chromecast/9bhh5G0ZnXM Edit: also found this http://www.vexperienced.co.uk/2015/07/02/chromecast-causing-wifi-interference-resolved/ So it might be the guest mode, i will check this. Turns out, its the guest mode on So if you dont want another ap with chromecast, turn off guest mode.
