Configure WRT54G as 'access point' only?

I have two WRT54G routers and would like to configure one as an access point only - I'm sharing my connection with my neighbors and want to give them their own network, but keep them on the same subnet. Is there an easy way to configure the WRT54G to do this? Screenshots would be helpful as well as explanations.
I've tried simply disabling the DHCP server on the secondary and assigning it an IP address in the range of the primary, but it doesn't seem to work. Am I forgetting something easy?
