I have a WRT54GL router I bought after returning the WRT54G v5 because of the dropping my connection issue. I upgraded the firmware to v4.30.1, HyperWRT 2.1b1 +tofu13c hoping it would fix this issue but I've had no luck. The router is connected to my cable modem then connected to my pc and has one wireless connection. When ever it drops the connection all the router lights are on as normal but it won't even pull up the router config. page until I go into Network Connections and disable and re-enable the connection then it works for a little while. I running Windows XP Pro SP2, not sure if Azureus (torrent program) has anything to do with it though its usually running. Anyone have any idea why this would be happening or how to fix it?

No one have any idea huh? Seems to me its something to do with Azureus, connection was doing fine until I opened Azureus up to download a torrent and not a minute later my connection went down. Any clue as to what would cause this?

I have a similar issue with WRT54GL running firmware 4.30.1. My setup is DSL modem>WRT54GL>one LAN and one WLAN connection (laptop with intel 945GM chipset / abg wifi). Sometimes I don't notice any drop all-day-long, sometimes I lose WLAN connection five times in row within 15 minutes. The connection is ususally automatically renewed within a minute or two. Haven't noticed any drop with the wired LAN on my desktop. I do monitor channels of other wifi users in our house, but none of the appears to be using the same channel I use.
I was also thinking about router software upgrade but now I confused if this can help....

No this is the wired connection that drops at times.

I´ve got a WRT54GL also, and it drops the WLAN sometimes. Often I can get it to reconnect, but this last time I haven´t been able to get my laptop with a Dell USB WLAN card to reconnect.. Don´t remeber firmware or så, but it´s the one I got in it at delivery!

If enyone should know were to find the reboot function would be happy, can´t find it. But haven´t searched in the telnet/SSH conf-mode.

you can reboot your router holding the orange light for a couple of seconds until it starts to flash in white.
For me neither laptop nor router reboot did not help to reconnect again. yesterday I was offline for almost an hour. Then it just connected back ... it's getting really annoying!!!
