I had a Linksys WRT54G V1.1 until nature in her wisdom decided to cook it with a lightening strike. The Linksys unit took the main brunt of the strike and stopped it getting to my PC's but at great cost to itself. The out come is that the Internet port and two of the network ports are completly cooked but the other two ports are fine and it appears to be working fine other than its port disability. I have been trying to think of a use for this router as it gave most of its lfe up to save my pcs (sad git or what). Luckly i have got a new Linksys router of EBAY for £15. Is there any way i could use it either in conjuntion with an antenna or somthing like that and also is it possible to admin the remain viamy laptop using Wifi.

Before i am told agian i am sorry i posted this every where but beer was involved

    Thanks in advance

It will work great as an access point. Simply disable the DHCP server and connect a network cable to one of the remaining working LAN ports!

Have worked out how to remote admin via wireless

Access the setup page a network cable

Then changed the LAN IP to

    Then disable the DHCP server

This was thanks to Kathyrein M(15994) on Linksys live support page.
