CrashPlan QoS

I saw the below in the large Tomato releases thread and thought I'd make a new thread so it doesn't get buried.

I just spent an hour or so getting QoS to work correctly with CrashPlan. My account backs up to IPs in 50.93.246.x.

In CrashPlan (under Settings - Network), set the TCP packet TOS to Low for WAN (though I did both - shouldn't matter).

Then, add a Tomato QoS rule for:

    -TCP destination port 443
    -DSCP class BE (0x00)

It's a bug in CrashPlan that "Low" corresponds to 0x00, which is technically a deprecated code for normal traffic. Not sure if/when they'll fix it. Here's a link to a thread about it on CrashPlan's site.

I didn't have any luck getting CrashPlan to work when I tried typing in manual numbers for the TOS, but this works fine.

Thanks for posting this...I am going crazy trying to use DSCP-10 (0x0a) value and when setting the rule up on Tomato it would never match the rule...I would have to assume that CrashPlan hasn't fixed their bugs yet for TOS..
