I am looking to create a vpn tunnel from a computer lab in one building to another building where the file and application server are stored.
These two seperate buildings are connected via a public network with access to the internet.

Due to vendor criteria for the App running in the computer lab, these systems cannot be acessable via the internet or any other systems on our network other then the app server. The Server cannot be located locally in the room the computer lab is in due to lack of physical security.

I have two RVS4000 routers at my disposal and am looking for some info on the setup of these devices. Has anyone here done a device to device tunnel? Linksys says this can be done, but I have been hard pressed to find any info on this. Anyone know how I should go about the config on this?

Here is a layout of what I am looking to do.

I don't know this router but the same basic rules should apply. On the RVx there are wizards for net-net and client-net tunnels. But this doesn't help when the client is on the inside, only one of your tunnels will be be right.

So, in my case on the RV I would simply use the net-net type tunnel and then specify a single IP for the local or remote subnet as required. That should get you a host-host or host-net tunnel that you are looking for.

Looking good. Those videos helped alot. Even thought the models were different the interface and theory were similar. I got a tunnel up and running in no time at all.

Thanks for the help! if anyone needs help setting up a similar config let me know.
