    Model : RV082
    Ver : 1.3.5

I tried to use DynDNS on my RV082 but it keeps showing "DDNS server is currently closed" message under the Setup--> DDNS tab.

I seached on DynDNS FAQ and it showed :
"Why does my router say "DDNS Server Is Currently Closed" when I try to update my hostname?

Some devices have had reports of a non-functioning update client in their router which only say "DDNS Server Is Currently Closed". If that happens, you should disable your update client and seek a firmware update for your device. If you continue to have problems with your router, please report the problem to the manufacturer and use a software client."

    What does it mean?

    Ver 1.3.5 is screwed?

It's really sad, but you are correct with your statement of:

    "What does it mean?
    Ver 1.3.5 is screwed?"

Yes, there are many shortcomings on the 1.3.5 firmware and as it seems linksys has abandoned their top-of-the-line wired router. We are rapidly approaching the 1 year anniversary of the last official firmware release. And there hasn't been a single beta firmware available since either.
On a couple of ours we had to even revert back all the way to the 1.1.x family of firmware to get some decent performance back.

We have now started to actively phase out all linksys equipment for our small office operation. I have still (although a very small) hope that they will be getting back to some of their existing, current small business products, but it seems it is more important to them to keep on producing new models.
No wonder theses RVxxx had a sticker on the box to upgrade to cisco products, which is probably their goal, so they can limit the linksys brand to just the home consumer market.

So for now just realize that you probably won't find any new firmware updates for the RV082 in the near future and start looking for better maintained products elsewhere. When we finally find a decent product I will let you know.

    Good luck

Firmware Version: updates DynDNS properly. I don't know what problems that older beta firmware version might cause for you though.

It is certainly disappointing that Linksys hasn't updated the RV082 firmare for so long. There are still major "false" syn_flood problems in certain situations with the latest beta and official firmware versions.

The RV series may be approaching its EOL condition due to RoHS non-compliance. I know Edge-Core EOLed their RV082 clone for that reason.

sigh.....that's right.....they keep changing models faster than I can change my underwear......and the new models are not necessarily better than their predecessor.

and they killed RV016....which means I gotta do all those damned VPN connection settings again should I replace my RV016.

I just hope Cisco dun screw up their little bro so bad.....
