    hi guys i would like to check how to go about using the ddns in tomato.. been playing around with the configs for eg no-ip but dont seem to get anywhere.. any advise ?

    It works fine here. My setting is to use the wan ip address, choose the no-ip option from the menu, insert the email address I used to register my account at no-ip, and the password. Hostname/group is the name of the hostname you chose at no-ip, like mysite.no-ip.com or suchlike. If you have several hostnames registered at no-ip, you can group them and just insert the name of the group instead of the hostname. I do that, and it updates just fine.

    hmm ok.. then from that how do you link it to a client .. ??

    Are you asking how to connect to a device behind your router from a client on the Internet?

    If so, you need to configure port forwarding at the router to the IP of the device on your network.

    For instance, if you want to open FTP to a server on your network and access it from an external (Internet) client, you would forward port 21 at the router to your internal FTP server, then use your NoIP domain name as the target address in the external FTP client.

    i see.. am i right to say that i would need to create a server(or just a page) to use noip ?
    another question would be what if the software ( eg. download managers) does not allow us to enter in our domain server ?
