I have a new WRT54G v7 (firmware 7.00.4) I secured using WEP 64-bit (hex). I tried to connect my Apple computer (OSX v10.4.6) to it wirelessly but I can't make use of any other Default Transmit Key other than "1" even if I used the same WEP Key....

    Default Transmit Key 1: Online
    Default Transmit Key 2: 169.254.x.x
    Default Transmit Key 3: 169.254.x.x
    Default Transmit Key 4: 169.254.x.x

Is this a bug or there's a setting on Airport for Default Transmit Keys?

P.S. yes, I used the dollar sign ($) before the WEP key(s) to connect Airport to the router....

I'm pretty sure I can switch to WPA anytime I want to once we get this WEP Key / Default Transmit Key issue figured out....

I have Macbook with Mac OS X version 10.4.10 and have exactly the same problem connecting using other default transmit keys (2-4) with the WRT54Gv7. I believe it is because unlike Windows that has default transmit key options using Wireless Zero Configuration our Mac doesn't have the option to tell the Airport to use another key. I search wireless settings for my Airport for this Default transmit key with no help. Maybe yours have that might help with our issue or we need to leave default transmit key to 1 to make this things work. Thanks.
