direct access to add ipf rules?

Does anyone have notes/link on how to access the RV042 in order to add specific ipf rules that can't be added via the default, web-interface?

I'm looking to re-direct email (POP3, IMAP and SMTP) traffic through a s/w appliance I'm building and testing. All of the protocol routing rules that you can define in the RV's web-interface are for incoming traffic (from WAN to LAN), I think. You can block outbound ports/protocols, but I haven't seen anything that'll allow me to redirect.

Of course, I'd need to be able to further filter it so that the appliance CAN actually go through the RV to the WAN on those protocols (after it's filtered the traffic).

    Anyone have any tips/tricks/pointers???

    Thanks in advance!

Hey, Toxic! Could I use your Telnet-tutorial (well done, btw) to access the ipf firewall tables and add my own rules? Do you know where they'd be on the RV's "filesystem"? Do you know if there's a recommended way to persist them (thru reboots) that won't hose any of the UI (wondering if the web-interface would read such a file/table and if I add ones it's not expecting if it would screw-up that page)? THANKS!!!
