    Hi all,

Can anyone advise me on the connection drops i'm having.

I'm sure the drops are related to the visibility of a neighbours network. When I search for available networks after dropping I can see the neighbours router... but when the connection is steady here I cant. I have tried wireless channels 1 6 and 12.

Even tested it with no protection and no mac filtering and it still drops.

Will the new visibility of my neighbours network (when the wind blows my way) drop my own ? and is there a way to stop it ?

Plugging a hard wire from my router into my lan card causes my wireless to drop, then reconnect - this is why im thinking visibility of another network.

One more question. with wireless adapters I normally use Xp's configuration utility to handle the wireless connections. Is it sometimes better to use the manufacturers utility ? recently I installed an Asus pci wireless card that wouldent connect on startup without the utility installed.

    thanks anyway
