    Hi guys,

My parents gave me an old WRT54G v.2 router that I upgraded to the latest Tomato firmware. I changed the power/signal strength to 70 vs the default 42 and set it up as a wireless client to use as a wireless adapter for my Xbox 360 using the instructions here:

The only difference is I set mine as a pure G mode instead of mixed.

When I try to test my internet connection in the X360 it gives me the following DNS error: "Your DNS server can't resolve the names of the Xbox Live servers on Xbox.com." "Your router or modem may not be auto assigning DNS settings. You can try to manually define the DNS setting instead.

I tried the DNS settings from my main router (a NETGEAR) but I still had an issue.

Has anyone tried this and got it to work? I don't know if the issue is with my Tomato wireless client, Netgear router, or X360 settings. I would appreciate any help or advice on where to look!

Did you do a complete wipe of the NVRAM after installing tomato? (Admin >> Config >> Restore Default Configuration >> Erase all Data) before reconfiguring? You were given a random router, so it's hard to know what state it was in beforehand.

I can tell you with certainty that the issue is not Tomato. That isn't to say that you aren't suffering from some firmware-flash-induced problem, but I can assure you that Tomato works perfectly fine with both Xbox Live as well as Xbox 360's running wireless adapters.
