I am using the PPTP client on my router to connect to a PPTP server on my parents' router. Mine is an E3000 and my parents' is an RT-N-16. Both are running the appropriate versions of 1.28.7498 MIPSR2-Toastman-RT K26 USB VPN. (Thanks, Teaman, for the PPTP server!)

I can access anything on my parents' LAN by using the IP address. But DNS resolution doesn't work. I have added the no-dhcp-interface for ppp4-ppp9 to the dnsmasq custom config on both routers.

My mom's iPad is named princess and has an IP of I can ping just fine. But if I ping princess, I get OpenDNS's "nx-domain" redirect. The same happens if I ping princess.local (my parents' local LAN name, which is different from mine). We are also on different subnets.

Anyone know what's going on? I have "Accept DNS Configuration" set to Yes in my router's PPTP Client settings. I also have "Create NAT on Tunnel" checked.

    Thanks for any ideas.

For now, please try adding both these lines to your custom dnsmasq config:
There's a new version coming up (and those extra lines should be no longer necessary when it's released).

Thanks, Teaman! I'd found your suggestion to do that in another thread. It works great.

I've found that in Tomato by Shibby 136+ that this needs to be:

Maybe this is something that broke in the MultiWAN changes?

    In fact:

works just as well as /etc/dnsmasq.conf already contains:
