    Hello everyone,

I'm using for DDNS and Victek's mod of Tomato. In the router's DDNS settings there is an option called "Auto refresh every". I have have set it to 30 days, so technically it should login to my account and renew/update my account. Yet I'm getting a "please, renew or account will expire" notice every 60 days from

So, what is the reason for this? Does "auto refresh every xx days" functionality work or not? I know that I put the right password, username, etc. because when I check "force next update" check mark and click "save", then I can see that accound gets accessed properly and information gets updated.

Does the "Last Result" field say it updated?

Auto renew works fine with DynDNS and FreeDNS. Sounds like a problem with for DDNS

Yes, it shows that it is updated and this is how I know that my username/password/group are set up correctly. Still, I'm receiving these notices every 60 days.

Also, the thing is that my IP doesn't change sometimes for more than 60 days, but I thought that router's DDNS setup would still log in every XX days to my account and update it.

So, as LanceMoreland said, this might be a problem. In this case I'm wondering what is the best dynamic IP service on the web? Is it DynDNS, FreeDNS, or maybe something else? Are there any without expiration?

DynDNS is the easiest to set up on Tomato. FreeDNS is not as straight forward. You have to look at the code they give you and figure out what the token is and use that with tomato. I have both set up and they have been working great for some time now. I have never been harassed for renewal.

Thank you for your input, guys. I will switch to DynDNS then.
