Got the Read Only error for the sixth time (in 6 months). And no answer at all from Linksys. That's it - this sh** goes to the bin!!!! I already dumped D-LINK products for poor quality - now LINKSYS goes the same way!!!

    linksys in the toilet

still... he's right. the quality of linksys routers, et al have gone into the toilet. their products are being released with firmware so buggy and unreliable, a child could have done better. even many of the advertised features of linksys' routers simply don't work at all, it's like they coded the front-end user interface.. then went on vacation.

if linksys were selling cars, they would be forced to do a massive, across the board recall... they are basically ripping-off their customers

I have to agree too. While I don't condone the method helsten2 used, he certainly visualized how I've been feeling lately.

I have been using wireless B equipment for about 4 years now with awesome, rock solid performance. I have been holding off getting wireless G equipment until just recently when I went out and bought a new router and access point to the tune of over $200 (CDN).

I've never been more frustrated and disappointed with any new equipment as I have been with these latest Linksys connections, settings that don't take hold, features listed that don't exist etc, TiVo is dead (static routing to my loopback doesn't work) and I can't access my files on my music server any longer so both my Audiotrons are dead too.

I will be packing it all up this weekend and going back to my proven (older) wireless B setup, at least I know it works like I need it to...
