    Tomato Firmware v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta E3000 USB Ext on a Fedora 18 computer.

I can telnet into the router and see:
    root@RT-C0C1C04C27FE:/tmp/mnt/LIVE/TOMATO# ls -al
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 May 1 10:04 .
    drwxrwxrwx 14 root 1000 4096 May 1 10:02 ..
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 May 1 10:04 log
I made a directory TOMATO and even an empty file "log" but I can never get it to show as "Mounted" in CIFS1.

When I enter a "UNC" the slashes are changed to backslashes when I save? That may or may not be a problem but it sure confuses me. I don't have any Windows computers available.

I guess I need a procedure for setting this up in Linux if someone could point me in the right direction.

Might be that i misunderstood your issue but CIFS1 is the local link/folder for mounting external ressources (CIFS Shares) on your router.
USB Drives get mounted in /mnt/[NAME of Partition]

So do you want to share your /tmp/mnt/LIVE/TOMATO via CIFS?

Go to Administration --> Logging --> Custom Log Path and Filename "/tmp/mnt/mountedname/syslog". Define # log rotation and size before next rotation.
