I'm using EasyTomato to manage a small office. It's working pretty well for the most part, but I can't monitor all the different devices because they don't show up on the Groups tab. I can see their IP in the Bandwidth tab, but that doesn't let me assign names or rules.

Is there anyway to manually add devices if they don't get auto discovered?

The Device List consists of basically anything seen on the local Ethernet segment; in other words, anything seen by ARP. If you have multiple layer 2 switches on your network, this may pose a problem. This is just how Ethernet works, by design.

If the EasyTomato guys have some other implementation in their firmware, such as use of SSDP or some equivalent of NDP, then that's unique and wouldn't work with all devices anyway. :)

I can't be of any more assistance.

Are the devices currently online when you're checking?

As I recall, without looking at the code, the bandwidth tab has data for any device that's been online in the last 24 hours, while the unassigned group only shows the devices currently online (device-list.asp).

We might make a way to toggle the view so you can assign rules to any devices that's been online in the last 24 hours, but we originally wanted to make sure at high volume sites the unassigned device list doesn't get huge and unsightly.

Yes, the devices are online. Maybe a check box saying "show offline devices" would help. Also if there was an optionto get the netbios name of the device showing up as the default name that would be helpful also.

Glad I found this thread. Installed ET 0.8 yesterday and was starting to pull my hair out because the Advanced:Device List and Easy Unassigned aren't showing the same thing.

The Easy Unassigned list is only showing the wired network connection. There are no wireless devices in this list. That makes trying to create Groups impossible and so also can't create any blocks using this interface.

Could it be that the wireless devices don't show up because I've already put all the allowed devices in the Access Restriction list using Allow Only These Devices? I did that using expert settings when I set up the router.

I'm using the router in Access Point mode. It is behind our firewall, IDS, IPS, so the only wired connection to the router. The server (not ET) does the DHCP. I think every wireless device is using a static IP.

For the time being, I'm going to do this manually using the advanced settings. I hope that you guys at ET can help figure out how to show all devices soon. I'm happy to help debug if you want.

I'm having the same problem of devices not showing up in the Easy List, but it goes further.
First, I have almost all MACs (about 30) assigned an IP and name through the advanced interface, both wired and wireless.
On the Easy list however, the assigned name does not appear, but a very broad range of naming nomenclatures. I can change the name of a device there, but this appears to be a separate MAC-to-device_name list.
Despite many devices not showing up on the Easy list (they ARE on and connected through the same unmanaged switches as devices that DO appear), the rules of (at least) one of the groups still are applied to some of the unshowed devices.

There are a few other inconsistencies between the Easy interface and the Advanced interface. It seems to me that the Easy IF doesn't incorportae the settings of the advanced IF, and blindly changes those settings.
