    Hi Folks,

I have an EFSP42 (2 x parallel port) print server. Off one port is hanging a Brother MFC-7420 printer/fax/scanner which prints fine.

I have just hooked a Samsung CLP-500 colour laser to the second port and although it prints the Win XP test print page OK, it will not print longer documents - I tend to get the first few pages and then a (not very helpful) printer error page from the printer.

I have had a look at the settings for the printer and also the port settings on the print server - nothing makes a difference and the only alterable thing on the print server seems to be to specify that the print stream is either ASCII or binary (I have tried both).

The firmware version on the print server is 6214 which is much higher than any available off the Linksys official site so I am a tad confused!

I have hooked the printer up to a Linux server, downloaded the drivers and set up cups/samba shared printing (USB) and this works fine so I do have a solution to my problem, but it would be more convenient (location-wise) to drive this printer from the EFSP42 so I just wondered if anyone had any useful suggestions.
