Scenario I wish to configure a WRTP54G as a WDS main station

This is the vonage +4 port device. I am currently using Vonage and wish to continue doing so. I want to set up a remote WDS station to handle B protocol traffic. I have a sense that this is not going to be workable, but I'd like a second opinion.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the only way I've done this is using 3rd-party firmware like DD-WRT. Putting that on the vonage enabled router and keeping the vonage working is probably not doable, but for most wrt54g's it's a fairly easy upgrade.

Did this with three WRT54GL's, DD-WRT and some external omni antennas to create a nice wifi blanket over a farmyard without running any cable. Worked very nicely.

Sorry alex, didnt realize you were looking at the same hardware. I think the Vonage part is going to screw things up for you. But I found this article: http://rgbdream.com/?p=44 which states that WDS is possible with std firmware in specific cases. See if it applies to you and if your router supports it.
