conencted the above together , tks to detailed instructions http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.ph...to-setup-a-wrt54g-in-client-bridge-mode.2336/ .

the WRT54 can connect wirelessly to the dlink router only if there is no security between the two. But if I add security like WPA2/AES (or other encryptions), then the WRT54 cannot connect.

Has anybody has any experience connecting the older WRT54 to a newer dlink this way? I am trying to set up a second wired network with the WRT54.

Alternatively, instead of connecting the two wirelessly, is it possible to use the dlink as the WAN input to the WRT54 through internet cable? I do want the wrt54 to have its be its own DHCP server.

thanks in advance for any help.
