Is it (useless/recommended/necessary) to have a firewall installed on my PC connected to the WRT54Gv5? My set up is a cable (RoadRunner) modem, then the WRT54G, then my PC running ZoneAlarm.

Zone Alarm will handle outgoing security-applications permission to access the internet to watch for Trojans, spyware, things calling home that you may not want. The SPI firewall in the wrt54G should take care of all the inbound stuff with no problems-ZA shouldn't see much if anything of concern from outside.
