To make the long story short, after so called "upgrading" my firmware to the latest, my connection speed was reduced nearly 400%!

I immediately downgraded my firmware back to and everything was working fine again.

This sucks the big time but just wanted to let you guys know. If you want to go for the upgrade, make sure you have the earlier version handy. Just in case

I take it you did do a full reset of the rv042 once you had upgraded to the new version of firmware then?

when new settings/fixes have been adde to a firmware the device is needed to be reset back to default settings. this is a necessity and linksys recommend this to nearly ALL thier hardware.

To reset please press the reset button for 30 Seconds.

I dont see anyone else complaining yet about this firmware, however it is early days i suppose.

Hi there,

Actually, I didn't reset the router to the default setting because I was upgrading, not downgrading at that time. At the upgrade page, there's only one warning (see below) that I was aware of.

1. When choosing previous firmware versions, all settings will restore back to default value.
Since I was not downgrading to the previous version, I didn't do a full reset. Not sure if this is what caused the issue but thanks for replying.
