I downloaded this firmware from the WRV54G Group at Yahoo. I have only tested basic router functions and they all appear to be working normally. I would have attached it to my post but it appears to exceed the allowed attachment size. I will email it to anyone that asks.

I've installed it. Works fine in that it seems to have corrected the email log notification feature not working in prior releases.

    Still annoyed:
    - that the WRV54G has yet to support WPA2
    - (related) the WRV54G's newer firmwares have lobotomized AES as an option for WPA
    - that Intel's documentation on their chipset indicates that it supports h/w acceleration/offload of AES encryption but this isn't even an optional cipher when setting up site-to-site VPNs.
    - that Linksys seems to be deliberately holding off on some features in order that this product not overlap with Cisco SOHO solutions.

    Happy about:
    - the fact that I've yet to find another vendor solution that this router won't cooperate with for site-to-site VPNs. So far I've successfully setup customers with CheckPoint, SonicWall, Symantec, and Cisco devices.
    - price point
    - features (SNMP, syslog, email alerts, site-to-site and remote access VPNs.

Eric, does Cisco SOHO support UPnP?

Would you have the time to contribute to Information thread on this forum concerning WRV54G?

"SOHO" does not specify a specific product. It stands for "Small Office, Home Office", and reflects the product's positioning in the marketplace. I was thinking about the Cisco 877, which does support all those things I mentioned.

I will look at the information thread.
