    I have just upgraded a Freshtomato 2018.4 MIPS2 mini to 2018.5 beta
After the upgrade the admin interface is not available. Logged in via SSH try to start httpd manually but no luck, I finally found this in the log:

    Code:
    Nov 25 23:19:16 3500L daemon.info httpd[1236]: Generating SSL certificate...
    Nov 25 23:19:41 3500L daemon.warn httpd[1236]: Unable to start SSL

The only reference to the error I have found is this extremely old post:
    https://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/unable-to-start-ssl-error.27782/

Did anybody experience a similar error before? How to move forward?

    Thanks

After a quick investigation is seems like the variable https_crt_file is gone missing. Tried to set it up manually copying a certificate from another machine, committed the nvram, reboot. No luck (and variable missing again)

    Hum...

I did check but it doesn't look like:

1108 entries, 22122 bytes used, 10646 bytes free

It would be nice to know, what is your router and what exactly image did you upload on it...

    Good question it's a WNR3500L (8/64)
I have upgraded from Freshtomato 2018.4 MIPS2 mini
    to
    freshtomato-K26_RT-MIPSR2-2018.5.083-beta-Mini.trx

I did not clear the NVRAM, just upgraded.

    So maybe try clean install.

// EDIT: if no change, try to disable https for now in the GUI:

    Code:
    nvram set http_enable=1
    nvram set https_enable=0
    nvram commit

and then reboot or "service httpd restart"

that way I can gain access to port 80 but even going back in the GUI and re-enabling HTTPS from there doesn't work.I will reinstall at this point but it's strange that's all.

That's not strange, you have to simply use only http for now, in this beta.
It should be fixed in next relase.
