    Hi there,

I have a Linksys WRT54G v2.0 and two days before I flashed my firmware to Firmware Version: v4.71.1, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c from the original linksys firmware v4.30.5
The following are the steps I've taken:
    1)Reset to factory defaults
2)Flash/Upgraded the firmware using the file i downloaded for thibor15c for v2.0 wrt54g
3)reset to factory defaults and clear nvram
4)manually enter all my previous settings

the thing was, my firmware flash was successful and i managed to connect to the internet (my pc is connected via a router to the modem) and everything was usual. However my router isn't switched on 24/7 and turned off everyday before i sleep.

The thing was when I woke up the next day and switched on the computer, I was told that there was no network connection, but i could still connect to my router, but not the modem. My laptop that is connected via wireless also cannot connect to the internet. I checked with my ISP and there was nothing wrong with my modem as I could connect to the internet if connected to the modem directly. Also I found out that I could repair this problem by resetting to factory defaults and clearing NVram for the router. However on the very next day, the same problem occurs again (and the same solution works again). I don't know what is wrong and this problem is very odd to me.

FYI, i am on a cable connection and previously i need not enter the host name too for the original firmware. My pc is on a static ip for the router( and my laptop is on automatically obtained IP. There is no clash of IP because i set automatic distribution to start from and this has worked previously with the old original firmware.

Is there anything that can be done to solve this problem entirely? Also i have another question, WRT54G does not have speedbooster so do i need to turn off afterburner?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

p.s. sorry for the long text, trying to provide as much info as possible =D
